Most places marked on these maps are hyperlinked to entries within the
South Seas Companion that explain their cultural significance, as well
as providing links to additional Companion entries about people and cultural
practices associated with these places.
Many Companion entries have galleries allowing you to see digital copies
of historical images from the collections of the National Library of
Australia depicting the life-ways and culture of Pacific peoples in the
century or so after 1760.
